Vagabond opens urban winery in London
17th December 2025
Vagabond Wines has opened the doors to London’s largest urban winery at Canada Water. Blending winemaking, eating and drinking under one roof, the venue brings Londoners closer to the craft of wine than ever before.

Spread across 6,000 square feet, the new Canada Water winery is a place where guests can explore a fully working 100-tonne cellar, taste straight from the tank or barrel, try more than 100 wines by the glass and enjoy everything from a quick drink to a full dinner.
Vagabond Canada Water combines large-scale winemaking with one of the most immersive wine experiences in the capital, WineGB said.
Guests can book a range of new adventures created specifically for the site – from guided winery tours to winemaking workshops and tasting flights – as well as sessions at The Vagabond Academy, which offers accessible wine education for every level of curiosity.
The opening marks the latest step in the significant investment programme from Majestic Wine and Fortress Investment Group, backing Vagabond’s next stage of growth and its mission to connect more people to winemaking in the heart of the city.
Founded in 2010 as a small local wine shop in Fulham, Vagabond has evolved into a unique wine-bar business that lets guests ‘tap and pour’ more than 100 wines by the glass from its self-serve machines. Its own award-winning wines are made by the in-house winemaking team at Vagabond’s Urban Wineries in Battersea and now Canada Water, using grapes sourced from within two hours of London.
‘Where London meets the vineyard’
Christobell Giles, managing director at Vagabond Wines, said: “This is where London meets the vineyard. Winemaking has come back to the water, and we have built a space that connects people to craft, creativity and community.
“You can feel the energy of the cellar while you drink. It is wine discovery made simple, modern and fun.”
The new winery will also quadruple Vagabond’s English wine production, with all wines made on site. Visitors will be among the first to try these new releases, poured fresh from tank or barrel.
